I welcome any and every book blogger that is willing to read and review indie/self-published work. This site is dedicated to the self-publishers and I cannot accept your link if you are not willing to review self-published titles.
Every link that is submitted will be reviewed before it is added to the database. I will try to update the database at least 2-3 times per week.
I randomly select featured listings. This featured listings on the homepage is weekly, while the featured in the links section will be changed every two weeks. I want every blog to have a chance to be featured. If you want your blog to be featured, simply just send me an email and I will add you to the next round featured links.
Reporting a dead link: If a site is down or is no longer accepting self-published books for review please report it. I will double check the link and remove it once I have fully investigated the situation.
Addressing the ratings and comments:
All ratings and reviews on the blogs and services links should be honest and fair. I will not allow any hateful ratings simply because the indie didn’t like the way their book was reviewed. The rating of a book blog should consist of the following:
- How often the blogger reviews books
- The quality of the reviews
- How often the blogger hosts giveaways
- How often the blogger offers guest posts
I understand that no author wants to receive a bad review. However, the best thing you should always do when you receive a bad review is to thank the reviewer.
How to solicit your book to reviewers:
You should start by introducing yourself and your book. Try providing a link where the reviewer can read a sypnosis of your novel, just so that the reviewer can determine if this is the book for them.
Please, Please make sure that you fully read and respect the policies of every reviewer listed at the Indie Book Blog Database. Don’t go through the listings randomly soliciting your book, especially to a reviewer that doesn’t even read your genre.
The reviewer may ask you to send a paperback copy of your book. Most reviewers don’t have e-readers. There is a category in the database that lists book bloggers that read and accept ebooks for review. If you don’t have a paperback copy then you should try contacting them first.
MAKE SURE YOUR BOOK IS READY FOR REVIEW! I’m trying to say this in the nicest way. Some reviewers actually count grammatical errors and bad formatting. Some reviewers will not even bother to read past the first chapter of your book if your book is not properly formatted. If you can’t afford an editor, simply try and find a beta reader that will at least proofread your work. I am also working to list affordable editors that will help you make your book ready for the public.
Be Patient. Many book bloggers are backlogged and need time to catch up with their current TBR. Don’t harass or try to rush the reviewer to read your book. It will turn the reviewer off, and they may not bother to review your book at all.
Be respectful. Not everyone is going to like your book. Sometimes bad publicity can be good publicity. And many readers are wary of books that only have five star ratings. Harassing or bad mouthing a reviewer because you don’t agree with the review you’ve received only makes it harder for other self-published authors.
For Book Bloggers
If you are a reviewer that reviews many genres, please include it in your description. The submission link only allows you to choose one category and I have to manually add the others. Please include a clear of what you accept and what you don’t accept in your listing.
Review Policy: This isn’t a requirement, but it really helps to have a review policy on your blog. Please have clear contact information listed somewhere on your site.
Referrals: If you know of a book blogger that reviews indie/self-published books, I would be more than happy to list them. However, I do verify that every blogger accepts self-published books for review.
HTML: You can use html in your description. You can include a banner if you have one.
Video: You can include a video in your description. It has to be an embedded YouTube code, otherwise I will not accept it.
Suggestions: If you have any ideas or suggestions that would help me with improving this site, please email me.
