Book Review Policy:

I prefer to review ebooks but I am open to reviewing hard copies as well. Please note, I live in the United States and shipping fees will be the author’s responsibility. Note: I DO NOT sale or redistribute any of the review or finished copies of books I receive. Any copy that I receive stays within my own personal collection. Every book review submission that is accepted will receive a review. My current turn around time is 3-6 weeks depending on the length of the book. Please be patient. Occasionally, I do finish them sooner. Every review submission that I ACCEPT will receive a review.
My Book Preferences:
I love reading: adult and young adult novels. I am particularly interested in fantasy (especially dark and urban fantasy), paranormal, supernatural and historical. I love reading everything from steamy romances, to time travel to books about vampires and the fae. Historical fiction is probably one of my favorite genres.
I like reading: Erotica novels but, not if they’re trashy. I appreciate some class. I like some mystery and thriller books. I am open to novels about LGBT or LGBT romances.
I do not read: non-fiction, children’s books, memoirs or biographies. I do not like reading overly political books.
Although I do have genre preferences I am an open-minded person. Occasionally I find myself reviewing non-fiction and children’s books. So you never know. I reserve the right to say NO to a book review request. If I deny your request it isn’t necessarily that I think your book is boring but rather I do not think I am the right person to review it. Thank you!
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Contact me. Shoot me an email at boekiebookreview@gmail.com, telling me what book you want me to review, and a short synopsis of the book. I will email you back within 2-3 business days saying “yes or no.” More than likely it will be a yes. But, occasionally I do have too much to review on my hands. If i do not contact you within 2-3 business days I will try and contact you as soon as possible.
2. Once I have agreed to review your copy and have received your book I will send a follow up email. The day that I receive your book and have sent confirmation of I will begin reading it.
3. Depending on its size reading can take anywhere between 3-6 weeks. Once I’ve read it I will post my review on this website as well as cross posting it on Amazon.com, BN.com & Goodreads. I will also email you or mail you a copy of my review. If you would like me to post it on a particular website please include this in your query email.
Also, I like to do other things to help you promote your book, such as author interviews or contests. If you have any other ideas or general questions please just contact me and we can discuss them.
More information:
Series: I will gladly review books that are part of a series, but if it is a series I have not read before, I will have to request previous parts of the series, or else I’ll be unable to complete the review. In return, I will read and review every book in the series.
Previous Releases: Naturally I accept upcoming releases, but I have no problem with books that have been out a couple of months either.
Honest Opinion: My review will be honest. Now that I’ve stated that I would like to say my intentions are to NEVER bash or disrespect the author in my reviews. I understand the time and effort put into writing a novel. If I feel that I can not write a honest review on your book I will notify you as soon as possible. If you would like to know why I will send you a message via email with details why I could not complete your review. Please note, this rarely happens.
My Reviews:
In my reviews I will include cover art, title, author, genre, rating (from 1 to 5 stars), source of the copy and a synopsis in my reviews. My review will be my honest opinion and will include constructive criticism. I do not bash or purposely disrespect authors within my reviews.
Disclaimer: I DO NOT accept money in exchange for a review. So please do not offer or ask me to. I do however promote books I love in anyway I can whether it is via Twitter, Facebook or my own book blog.
